Hello, I’m Meltem Bicioglu, the founder of Spoklo.
With a background in communication and marketing, my journey began in Istanbul and has continued in the United States for more than a decade. I first lived in Boston, a city deeply rooted in education and culture, and today I call Silicon Valley home.
Over the years, I’ve experienced life in different cities and education systems — not just as a professional, but as a mother. Raising my own children here showed me how powerful it can be to grow up between cultures, and how much perspective that experience can offer.
I founded Spoklo to create programs where students can develop their English beyond the classroom, through everyday experiences, while engaging with a new culture in a meaningful and natural way — not as tourists, but as participants.
Having personally navigated the challenge of speaking a language I understood academically, taught my own child English from the very beginning, and lived within two cultures, I understand the questions and concerns families often have. These experiences shaped every part of Spoklo.
At Spoklo, Silicon Valley becomes a living learning environment where English is used naturally throughout the day — in conversations, exploration, and shared experiences.
Rather than a traditional language camp, Spoklo offers a thoughtfully structured experience where students build confidence, independence, and lasting memories, while applying what they learn in real-life settings.
